Thoughts

Farewell Mureen, our beautiful friend. We shared so many happy times together - our unforgettable memories of our adventures around the world are full of joy and laughter and will always be with us. I can remember how we rode on camels and how we laughed so much getting on and off! From China to North America, the Caribbean and beyond we laughed around the world together, in sunshine and rain. Thank you Mureen for being such a dear friend, like a sister to me, and for all the happy times. You will always be in our hearts.

Losing someone you love is one of the hardest things about life. Actually, it is the hardest thing ever. We no longer get to see their face, hear their voice, or cherish time with them. Instead, we are saved by memories, videos, and photographs. We have to rely on everything we have experienced with that person to remember them. Aunty Mureen, she was a one of kind, wonderful, warm and caring person, probably one of the best I've ever met. I remember the first I met her when she came to South Africa – her welcoming smile, her kind heart and just her love for the family. I had the opportunity to live in the UK and ended up spending lots of time with Aunty Mureen where we talked, we laughed, we ate, and we played Mah-jong. Some of my fondest highlights are the traditional Cantonese dishes she taught me which have become a firm favourite with my kids. My fondest memory is her welcoming smile, her friendliness, sincerity, her love for friends and Family. I will always remember her for the little things like that. I want to remember her the best way possible. Whether it be her beautiful smile, her generous nature or just the time she took to get know someone, I will love and miss her always and forever. "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.”– Unknown Always in our Hearts and Thoughts. Rest in Peace Dear Aunty Mureen

As a child I recall several visits from dearest aunt Mureen. They were so special as she would share stories about family history or connections. She was always such a delight and had such a good presence about her. She was truly a gift from the Lord to my family. In my last visit to the UK I had the blessed privilege to see her. Though time has passed and she had become older, her spark for life and delightful nature was still there. Her smile was one I'd never forget. She poured out such generosity and graciousness. I will remember her always. May she be off blessed memory.
